- As the second of two employees, operated Information Services for the fledgling Rapid Capabilities Office. Functions encompassed the range of IT needs including help desk, secure data transfers, and setting up new user workspaces (cabling, account creation, etc.)
- Managed migration of data, including user profiles and segregated program information from old server to new server during routine replacement of hardware and OS upgrades, as well as system consolidation.
- Oversaw transition from running multiple PCs at each workstation to single-box thin clients, which served to utilize a single human interface (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) instead of a switch box to move between systems. Project included standing up several new servers to connect the thin clients to their applications and manage server load.
- In an expansion of the Rapid Capability Office’s SCIF, designed cabling and power needs for each cluster of workstations, ran fiber optic network cables for each position neatly with clear labeling at each end for ease of patching, ran STE cabling for same.
- Conceptualized, designed, programmed, deployed, and maintained the intranet application “RCO Services,” which tracked document control, media control, faxes, program access requests, and similar facility security functions. Kept all personnel security tracking, document tracking, etc. in one easy to access and review format. Automatically generated on the fly customized reports. Utilized VB.NET and SQL back end with web interface for clients. Application was exported from RCO to several other DoD program offices. System has been decommissioned. Repurposed portions of the system to maintain user experience consistency and system functionality, and ported those portions to SharePoint.
- Developed and maintained over 20 SharePoint sites on intranet to manage document control and program security.
